Tracking campaigns

Tracking a campaign

Once a campaign has been scheduled or mailed out, you can track its progress and outcome on the Campaigns page.

Suivi d'une campagne

For each communication campaign sent out, this screen shows:

  1. The number of recipients to whom the campaign was sent (i.e., the number of active subscribers in the list or list segment associated with this campaign)
  2. The number of emails that have been successfully sent out
  3. The number of emails that generated an error during the mailing process (unknown email address, message rejected as spam, etc.)
  4. The number of subscribers who opened1 the email
  5. The number of subscribers who unsubscribed following this campaign.

This window also displays:

  • The date and time the campaign was created
  • The campaign's status (planned, launched, completed)
  • The newsletter associated with the campaign
  • The language of the newsletter sent out for this campaign
Notes: 1: the opening rate is calculated by inserting a transparent image into the body of the email being sent and measuring how many times these image get requested. Some e-mail clients detect this as a tracking attempt and refuse to open the image, in which case the opening will not be counted. On the other hand, some web-mail client "pre-load" the images of received e-mails, even if the end user won't actually open the email. In this case we will count one opening, even if the user has not seen your message. In this sense, the opening rate should be considered as an approximation and does not correspond to an exact measurement.

Moderation

Waiting for moderation

If your campaign is being sent to recipients of moderated groups, then moderation requests are automatically sent to the moderators of the corresponding groups. They will then authorize (or deny) sending your campaign to the corresponding recipients.

The moderators will see the content of your campaign, and can, if they wish, contact you or send you a message, to e.g. request additional information.

As long as the moderators haven't decided on whether authorizing your campaign to be sent to the moderated group, sending to the corresponding recipients will be paused. As soon as one of the moderators will have authorized the delivery, sending to the corresponding recipients will resume automatically.
