Afin de répondre aux exigences des autorités compétentes (Canton et SUVA), aux dispositions légales suisses applicables (OUC et OPTM) ainsi qu’aux dispositions réglementaires de l’EPFL (art. 12, al. 9 de la LEX 1.5.1), les responsabilités liées à la fonction de Biosafety Officer (BSO) doivent être formellement intégrées au cahier des charges des personnes exerçant cette fonction.

Le ou la BSO veille à la conformité des activités impliquant des agents biologiques pathogènes, des organismes exotiques et/ou des organismes génétiquement modifiés.

L'équipe OHS - Biosécurité en collaboration avec les RH a donc mis en place un formulaire ServiceNow BSO selon un principe similaire à celui déjà appliqué pour la fonction de COSEC. Une fois le formulaire clôturé, une annexe au cahier des charges sera automatiquement générée et ajoutée au dossier RH. Le cahier des charges original de la personne ne sera pas modifié.

Toutes les personnes assumant actuellement la fonction de BSO sont invitées à compléter ce formulaire, avant le 30.11.2026.

Quelques précisions pour compléter le formulaire :

• Il vous sera demandé d’indiquer la date initiale de votre prise de fonction en tant que BSO. Si celle-ci est inconnue, veuillez indiquer "01.01.2026".

• Il vous sera également demandé de sélectionner une date pour la formation BSO. Si vous avez déjà suivi cette formation, veuillez sélectionner « Aucune des dates ne me convient » et indiquer « Formation déjà suivie » dans le champ commentaire.

À l’avenir, ce formulaire devra également être utilisé pour annoncer la nomination d’un nouveau BSO ou tout changement de personne assumant cette fonction.

In order to comply with the requirements of the competent authorities (the Canton and SUVA), the applicable Swiss legal provisions (OUC and OPTM), as well as EPFL regulations (Art. 12, para. 9 of LEX 1.5.1), the responsibilities associated with the Biosafety Officer (BSO) role must be formally incorporated into the job descriptions of individuals performing this function.

The BSO is responsible for ensuring compliance of activities involving pathogenic biological agents, exotic organisms, and/or genetically modified organisms.

The OHS Biosafety team, in collaboration with Human Resources, has therefore established a ServiceNow BSO form, based on a principle similar to that already applied to the COSEC role. Once the form is closed, an appendix to the specifications will be automatically generated and added to your HR file. The person's original specifications will not be modified.

All individuals currently serving as BSOs are requested to complete this form by November 30, 2026.

A few points to note when completing the form:

• You will be asked to indicate the date on which you initially assumed the BSO role. If this date is unknown, please enter "01.01.2026".

• You will also be asked to select a date for BSO training. If you have already completed this training, please select "None of the proposed dates are suitable for me" and indicate "Training already completed" in the comments field.

In the future, this form must also be used to report the appointment of a new BSO or any change in the person holding this function.
