As popular as they are, workbench 3D printers entail numerous hazards such as high temperatures (190-260 °C), moving parts (stepper motors, pulleys, carriages), emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs, e.g. 2-180 µg/min), ultrafine particles (UFPs, e.g. 20-90 billion/min), and toxic substances (e.g. ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, phenol, and benzene).
