The EPFL start-up TreaTech gets 9 more millions to continue revolutionising waste disposal

“Revolutionising waste disposal by harnessing the power of the circular economy”. With this bold claim, the EPFL spin-off TreaTech sets a high bar. And is ready to deliver: the Lausanne-based start-up has announced the closing of a successful Series A financing for CHF 9 million this summer. The young cleantech company can turn your liquid waste to gold. Literally. Here is how.

• GliaPharm secures $4.2 million to advance its lead program
  The Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation has invested $4.2M to accelerate the development of GliaPharm’s lead compound through investigational new drug-enabling studies to gain approval for clinical testing in Alzheimer’s disease.
   
• Vandria raises USD 20.6M and emerges from stealth
  Vandria was spun out of Amazentis SA, an EPFL start-up, in 2021 with backing from ND Capital to develop first-in-class small molecule mitophagy inducers against a novel target to rejuvenate cells and treat age-related and chronic diseases. Its lead program is on track to enter clinical trials in Europe in Q2 2024.
   
• Sustainable Building Tech Startup Vizcab Raises $5.5 Million
  Sustainable building design software provider Vizcab announced today that it has raised $5.5 million in a Series A funding round, aimed at supporting the acceleration of net zero in the construction industry.
   
• Parkinson's disease: a neuroprosthetic to correct walking disorders
  Neuroscientists and neurosurgeons at the EPFL/CHUV/UNIL, Inserm and the University of Bordeaux have designed a neuroprosthetic intended to correct walking disorders associated with Parkinson’s disease.
   
• Nu Glass lands major Swiss Railway order
  The EPFL spin-off just won a major contract with the Swiss Railway Company (CFF-SBB) to apply its laser treatment to 5700 glasses of 40 InterCity trains to improve mobile connectivity. More orders should follow soon as the solution is raising interest in Switzerland and abroad.
