Dear colleagues,
On August 21st 2025 you have received a newsletter regarding changes in obtaining access to laser laboratories.
We have explained that, in the past, access to Laser rooms was granted automatically by group affiliation for each new member.
From now on, only personnel that has requested the access to a laser room via corresponding web page will obtain it.
Access rights that were given ‘manually’ or by affiliation will be erased on the April 1st 2026.
We therefore encourage personnel concerned to start process of access request as soon as possible. We hope time granted for completing this process is sufficient as to not disturbe you in your daily work.
Once the person initiates the request for access, the system will check that:
- Online or classroom laser safety training is completed/ test successfully passed (the data base exists since 2012).
- Cosec will need to confirm that person indeed needs to access that particular room.
- Lab head will need to confirm that practical training is organized.
When these 3 criteria are satisfied, Camipro access to a laser room is granted. The person needs to validate the Camipro card via a Camipro hotspot before access right to a particular room is operational.
